Frog BogFrog Bog is a 3 color skill screen print that I developed based on observations of a development in Oakland called Brooklyn Basin. It is a statement about the wetlands environment of the Bay Area and disappearance of habitat for fragile creatures like frogs.

Woods Crane, watercolor, vellum, collage and paint pens on wood, 24”x30”, 2019. This painting began at an artists retreat in the woods of northern CA. The idea came from living surrounded. by cranes and building projects in Oakland. I am contrasting the awe of the cranes with the wonder of the CA old growth tall trees.

This series is inspired by a series of photographs that I took out of my car window of homeless encampments. As a viewer I watch from the comfort of my car as people live on the streets. At the same time I feel the need to document this time and give a voice to this crisis.
